Biography

Alexander Albrecht gained international recognition through roles in acclaimed productions such as Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit, Sky’s Little Birds, and UFA’s Ku’damm 63. Alongside his work on screen, he is deeply rooted in theater. As co-founder and Artistic Director of the Alpine Theater Company (ATC) St. Moritz, he has shaped the cultural landscape of the Engadin since 2023 with bold and innovative productions. With the celebrated premiere of RE:MOZART, he captivated audiences and critics alike in the role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In winter 2025/26, he will take on the title role in the world premiere of FAUST:RELOADED in St. Moritz.

Born and raised in Switzerland, Albrecht never felt bound by limits – neither in thought nor in spirit. His path led him to live in New York, Mexico City, Italy, and Germany. In New York, he studied acting at the renowned Susan Batson Studio. His international experiences and encounters with people from all walks of life have profoundly shaped his empathy and artistic expression.

Albrecht is a native speaker of German and Swiss German, fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, and skilled in various dialects and accents. Thanks to his musical ear, he brings linguistic and emotional nuance to every role.

Today, he is based in Switzerland once again, channeling his experiences and inspirations into his creative work—both on stage and in front of the camera.
